ASUS ROG Falchion Ace 75 HE Vit ROG HFX V2

Falchion Ace 75 HE is a premium keyboard from ASUS aimed at FPS players. The highlight and unique selling point of this keyboard is that it uses switches with Hall Effect sensors instead of mechanical switches of the same type as the many Cherry MX derivatives on the market. The technology works so that the keyboard has a sensor per key that uses magnetic fields to detect how far the key is pressed down. This makes the switches analog rather than binary, which means that the activation and reset points can be adjusted via software. Since the switches are factory-lubricated and have minimal physical contact compared to mechanical switches, they also have a smooth feel and a pleasant sound profile compared to other linear switches. Just like many new peripherals from both ASUS and their competitors, most settings are done via a web-based software ASUS calls Gear Link, which means no local installation is needed. Most settings related to the switch functions can also be done directly on the keyboard via the scroll wheel, touch bar, and other controls. The keyboard comes with a carrying case that contains a combined keycap/switch puller as well as an extra key to replace the Copilot key with a Ctrl key. However, I feel it is somewhat unnecessary to allocate resources to including a carrying case, especially since it does not have space for, for example, a mouse if the idea is to take the equipment on the road. The keyboard has consistently high build quality, good sound dampening, doubleshot PBT keycaps, and RGB backlighting. ASUS simply delivers what one expects in this area in this price range. If we talk about downsides to the keyboard, I really only see one: that it is not wireless. I think a keyboard that at the time of review costs nearly 3,000 kronor should offer wireless connectivity to become a bit more versatile and not be so solely focused on gaming. This makes the keyboard harder to recommend over the sibling model Azoth, which costs about the same, unless you are specifically looking for the Hall Effect switches. If the keyboard had been wireless, I would probably have given it full marks, as there are really no other obvious drawbacks that are not a matter of personal taste. (Disclaimer: The keyboard is a review-and-keep unit from Inet.)
