ASUS ROG Kithara

Large but comfortable with excellent sound - I don't have much need for the mic myself so I leave it untested for now. But the headphones are open so the surroundings can be heard (or disturbing). And the cables are just right if you have the computer at your gaming corner but if you want to sit on the sofa and enjoy the HiFi sound, the cable feels somewhat short. But the sound is GOOD!

My first step into the HiFi world. The 100 mm large planar elements provide a fantastic soundstage and separation, making it easy to locate enemies. Most gaming headsets market a 3D soundstage without delivering, but here it actually holds true. I am currently running it via USB directly into the motherboard without a proper DAC amplifier, so I haven't pushed them to their full potential yet. But that it already sounds this good from the start says a lot! The build quality is also really sturdy and feels comfortable on the head. You immediately notice that it is a solid construction and not some cheap plastic that falls apart after a few years. Then again, open cups are both a plus and a minus. During summer, when running AC, fans, or dehumidifiers, there quickly becomes a lot of background noise and then you would rather have had closed cups.

Switched from Sennheiser HD650 and think the sound is significantly much better, clearer, bigger soundstage, and it sits easier on the head. The mic is completely okay, works fine for Discord and gaming etc. The cable is somewhat short I think, something to consider depending on where you have your computer, solved it with a USB-C extension cable. Of the headsets I've tested so far, this has by far the best sound in this price range.
