ASUS ROG Falchion Ace 75 HE Red ROG HFX V2

Falchion Ace 75 HE is a premium keyboard from ASUS aimed at FPS players. The highlight and unique selling point of this keyboard is that it uses switches with Hall Effect sensors instead of mechanical switches like the many Cherry MX derivatives on the market. The technology works so that the keyboard has a sensor per key that uses magnetic fields to detect how far the key is pressed. This makes the switches analog instead of binary, which means the activation and reset points can be adjusted via software. Since the switches are factory-lubricated and have minimal physical contact compared to mechanical switches, they also have a smooth feel and a pleasant sound profile compared to other linear switches. Just like many new accessories from both ASUS and its competitors, most settings are made via web-based software called Gear Link, which means no local installation is needed. Most switch functionality settings can also be made directly on the keyboard via the scroll wheel, touch bar, and other controls. The keyboard comes with a carrying case that contains a combined keycap/switch puller as well as an extra key to replace the Copilot key with a Ctrl key. However, I feel it is somewhat unnecessary to allocate resources to include a carrying case, especially when it does not have space for, for example, a mouse if the idea is to bring the equipment on the go. The keyboard has consistently high build quality, good sound dampening, doubleshot PBT keycaps, and RGB backlighting. ASUS simply delivers what you expect in this price range in that area. If we talk about drawbacks with the keyboard, I really only see one: it is not wireless. I believe a keyboard costing nearly 3,000 kronor at the time of review should offer wireless connectivity to be a bit more versatile and not be so exclusively focused on gaming. This makes the keyboard harder to recommend over the sibling model Azoth, which costs about the same, unless you specifically want the Hall Effect switches. If the keyboard had been wireless, I would probably have given it full marks, as there are really no other obvious drawbacks that are not a matter of taste. (Disclaimer: The keyboard is a review-and-keep sample from Inet.)
